SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Marguerite Glass has been actively involved in the art world since the early 1980s. Before joining the faculty in 1996, Dr. Glass held positions in both galleries and museums including the New Gallery of Contemporary Art, Cleveland Ohio; the Smithsonian Institution; the Architect's Office, United States Capital; and the Curator's Office, Supreme Court of the United States. She also held a position as an archivist in the Gallaudet University Archives.

Dr. Glass has served in an administrative role or as an advisor for several art and museum related organizations. Her work has included issues related to accessibility and ADA compliance in museums as well as advocacy for the deaf and hard of hearing. She has worked in a consulting capacity with both the American Association of Museums and the National Gallery of Art, Washington.

Dr. Glass's recent scholarship has included theoretical studies on art appropriation and focused on the works of Johannes Vermeer, Edouard Manet and contemporary women artists.
